Why This Happens
There are two common reasons the BambooHR integration may fail to connect:
API access is unavailable on the free tier – Only paid BambooHR plans support API functionality.
Incorrect domain format – Users may enter the full domain instead of just the required subdomain.
What You Need to Do
Step 1: Confirm You’re on a Paid Plan
Make sure your BambooHR account includes API access, which is only available on paid tiers.
If you're on the free plan, you will not be able to generate an API key and complete the integration.
Step 2: Enter the Subdomain Only
When connecting the integration:
Do not enter the full domain (e.g.,
yourcompany.bamboohr.com)Instead, enter only the subdomain (e.g.,
yourcompany)
