NinjaOne - User Guide

In this article, you will understand step by step how to integrate Scytale with NinjaOne

NinjaOne is a cloud-native endpoint management and remote monitoring & management (RMM) platform. It manages Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints - desktops, laptops, servers, and VMs - covering device inventory, remote access, endpoint monitoring and alerting, and endpoint-security capabilities.

Required Permissions

  • read: monitoring

Scytale follows the least-privilege principle, limiting permission scopes strictly to what's required for reliable audit evidence collection.

How to Connect

  1. In Scytale, go to 'Integrations'.

  2. Search for NinjaOne and select 'Connect'.

  3. Paste your client ID & client secret, and select your region.

  4. Add a connection name — this will be used to differentiate between your connections — and then select 'Connect'.

You have now successfully connected to NinjaOne.

How to Generate Credentials in NinjaOne

  1. Log in to your NinjaOne dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Administration, select 'Apps', then 'API', and then 'Client App IDs'.

  3. Identify your region from the NinjaOne URL you use to sign in — US for app.ninjaone.com, EU for eu.ninjaone.com, or Oceania for oc.ninjaone.com.

  4. Select 'Add' to create a new client app.

  5. Set the application platform to 'API Services' — the machine-to-machine option — and assign the monitoring scope only.

  6. Save the application, then copy the client ID and the client secret.

Note: The client secret is displayed only once. Be sure to copy it before closing the dialog.
