Cursor is an AI-powered code editor used by development teams to write, edit and review code with AI assistance across their codebase.
Required Permissions
Team : read
Scytale follows the least-privilege principle, limiting permission scopes strictly to what's required for reliable audit evidence collection.
How to Connect
In Scytale, go to 'Integrations'.
Search for Cursor and select 'Connect'.
Paste your Team API key.
Add a connection name — this will be used to differentiate between your connections — and then select 'Connect'.
You have now successfully connected to Cursor.
How to Generate a Team API Key in Cursor
Step 1 - Sign in to Cursor and confirm your team
Go to cursor.com/dashboard and sign in.
Check the bottom-left corner: it should show your team name and Team Plan (or Enterprise). If you see "Upgrade to Pro", or Members shows "Upgrade to Teams", you are on a personal account - switch to your team with the account menu, or ask a team admin to do these steps.
Step 2 - Open the Team API keys
In the left sidebar, click API & SSH Keys.
Switch the toggle at the top right of the API Keys card from User to Team.
⚠️ Do not create a User API key. User keys only work for Cursor's agent tools; Scytale cannot connect with one.
Step 3 - Create the key
Click New API Key.
Name: Scytale.
Scope: change from Admin to Read-only. Read-only is all Scytale needs.
Expires: change the default (180 days) to 1 year at minimum, or Never expires if your security policy allows. The key must outlast your audit period - when it expires, Scytale stops collecting evidence. Note the date.
Click Save.
Step 4 - Copy the key
Copy the crsr_... value from the dialog now - Cursor will not show it again; the table only shows a masked value.
If you lose it, delete the key and create a new one.
